The Front Range Woodturners Youth Mentoring program serves to introduce the next generation of woodturners to the craft. Our current focus is the after-school lathe club at Stargate School in Thornton, CO., which meets once per week during the school year. Students are introduced to fundamentals of woodturning with an emphasis on safety and technique. They are also encouraged to become FRW members and pursue woodturning for the long term.

Youth Mentoring could be expanded to other schools and programs. Suggestions and participation from FRW membership are always welcome.

For more information please contact our Youth Mentor Chairperson.
